Town Of Galway

Dog Owners Reminded

May 22, 2018

It was a long winter, but warmer weather is now allowing us to enjoy being outdoors more frequently.  This also creates an environment that can be unsafe for all Town of Galway residents should dog owners not be mindful of their dogs and control them.  With that in mind, below are the Town of Galway laws that dog owners are expected to abide by and obey.  This is especially important in densely populated areas.

Please be sure you dogs are licensed and up-to-date on their rabies vaccination.  Rabies infected wild animals are prevalent in our area.  If an unvaccinated dog is bitten by a wild animal, the dog will be quarantined for six months at the Saratoga County Animal Shelter at the owner's expense.  Our number one priority is the safety and health of our community.  A complete list of the town laws can be found on the Town of Galway website.
